Sunday at the Cape

Sunday at the Cape

Sunday we had a quiet morning and then returned to the Dune Shack for a fabulous lunch and a trip down to the beach.

Some combination of currents, coastal shifts, and whim of fishes has caused a flop of seals to settle just off the shore from where we were. It’s weird and very wonderful – I think there might have been a hundred seals. And I hadn’t brought my bathing suit, but everybody else was swimming, and there were *seals.* (Did I mention there were seals?) So I ended up swimming anyway, obviously.

Quick trip into P-town and a ferry boat to Boston, amidst the 4th of July festivities. During the first part of the ride we could see the cape fireworks in each town along the shore, and during the second part we could see the Boston fireworks – grand finale just as we pulled into Long Wharf.  (Sadly, the photos didn’t quite turn out.  In my copious free time – ha -  maybe I’ll paint a picture of what it looked like…)
