Yes, I know I’ve waited until almost-the-last-minute, but there’s something appealing about doing my taxes on April Fool’s Day. I always do them myself – mostly because I can.  It’s reassuring to check in, once a year, with all the messier bits of my financial life, itemize them, and see that they’re not all that complicated. Also, it’s nice to check in, once a year, and make sure I can still do basic mathematics with a pencil.
