Katherine’s chicks are hatching!  Katherine keeps chickens in her backyard (she also has a cat, a dog, and a bunny – it’s a crazy menagerie).  One of the hens got “broody” so she got some fertilized eggs for the hen to sit on, and sure enough, here we are the day before Easter and the baby chicks are hatching.

The adoptive hen-mother is making all kinds of weird humming purring noises, not like her usual clucking.  And the eggs are peeping, which is extremely weird.  You can pick up an egg, hold it to your ear, and hear the baby chick peeping inside.
