a sonnet for snow

a sonnet for snow

The joys of youth and Yuletide spirits bright!
Remembering my Alma-Mater days…
When in such deep profound amounts it snows
That e’en the toughest northern schools all close
The kids come out and have a snowball fight.
Eternal Youth will never change his Ways.

Yet generations rise above the past:
Our battle-cue the shadow on the snow
From circling flight of raven, crow and rook
Our mighty former numbers they’ve surpassed
And bravely to their chilly ends they go,
3000 strong, their General: Facebook.
With plastic tray to serve as Honor’s Shield
Go Badgers! Ne’er a frozen inch to yield.
